KnowCabo
The client wanted a site with information you can only get about Los Cabos. We built a bilingual guide with real-time weather, hurricanes, beaches and fishing.

01
The problem
Anyone arriving in Los Cabos — or living here — has specific questions nobody answers well: can I swim at this beach today? is a hurricane coming? what time is sunset? are the whales here yet?
The answers are scattered across generic forecasts that don't distinguish one beach from another, Facebook groups, and blogs nobody has updated in years. The client saw that gap and asked us for a site with information specific to Los Cabos, not the same tourist guide that already exists everywhere.
02
What we built
We built a bilingual guide that answers those questions with real data that updates itself — nobody has to write a post every morning.
Each section answers one concrete question: today's weather hour by hour, a hurricane center with a live map, each beach's status with real swell data, fishing and whale seasons, the UV index, sunset times and airport status.
- Bilingual site (Spanish / English) with more than ten sections
- Live weather: hour by hour plus a seven-day forecast
- Hurricane center with a live map and what to do in an emergency
- Per-beach status with real swell data and a safety indicator
- Surf, fishing and whales, marine life, UV index, sunset and airport
- Blog with local content
- Deployed on global edge infrastructure, on its own domain

Key decisions
Beach by beach, not 'Los Cabos' as a whole
A general forecast tells you it's a nice day. It doesn't tell you El Médano is fine for swimming while Solmar has a current that kills people. Every beach shows its own swell data and a three-state safety indicator. That's the difference between a data point and a useful answer.
Real data or nothing
Everything on the page comes from a live data source and is stamped with the time it updated. No filler numbers to make the page look full. If a reading isn't available, the site says so — an information site loses its only advantage the day someone catches it making things up.
Bilingual from day one
Half the Los Cabos audience arrives in English and the other half lives here in Spanish. This isn't a Spanish site with a translator bolted on: both versions were written as originals.
Built to take on partners
The client sees the guide as an opening for partnerships with local businesses. The site was structured from the start so those can slot in without a rebuild: each topic section — fishing, beaches, marine life — is a natural place for a partner to be where people are already asking.

04
The result
1,350 search impressions to date, with the site live and growing.
The client owns a platform to build local partnerships on, instead of renting an audience on social media.
Impressions are the number of times the site appeared in search results, according to Google Search Console. It's an early figure: the project has only been live a short while.
